Development Hell

It seems the developers of the Mooege educational project stumbled upon the location of the D3 development team. And i wholeheartedly agree.  The current development track is something unheard of in modern projects and for good reasons. Projects that constantly evolve outside the defined concepts tend to grow cumbersome and unfocused. So far things work well in the beta, can’t wait to try patch 10.

Systems Changes?

Well everybody and their grandmother were already hyping the release of Diablo 3 when Jay Wilson decided drop a nuke on the whole community. A great deal of core concepts have been changed up to a point were people went WTF? When I read it the first time I checked to see whether it was April Fools, but it’s not.

  •  Removed all three artifacts
  • Added town portal
  • Dedicated potion button
  • Mystic removed
  • Whites no longer salvageable
  • Character Stats changes
  • And several others that have yet to be disclosed

So Diablo release is seemingly miles away and things seem to be falling apart. The changes made are at the core of Diablo and will turn it into a completely different game.

Diablo Books in Chronlogical Order

Enkera made another cool video showing the order and timeline of the books by richard knaak and book of cain in chronological order. At the end he mentioned that Book 11 will be out soon called The Order by Nate Kenyan with Cain himself at the center of the story.

Now a much older man, Deckard Cain is on a mission to find the remnants of a rumored Horadric cell, and must call upon all of his knowledge and wit to teach and inspire those around him even as they face danger and death at every turn. Can he lead the return of a ragtag group of Horadrim and their ideals to Sanctuary…or will they die out with Cain himself?

Consoles… Confirrmed!

Escapist Magazine is running a piece that confirms Diablo 3 coming for consoles. It’s spearheaded by Josh Mosqueira one of the industries veterans. And should be able to make a great port to the consoles. Ofcourse the usual rhetoric threads have been created which you can go read but you have mostly read them before.

I do have one nasty little nag gnawing at my brain, what if the game release has been delayed so they can sync up the PC and Console version. While i don’t usually go nuts about the release date, this thought really provoked me and I am dying to know.

Heated debate on Korean Servers

Blizzard Logo
Bashiok found himself in a bind when answering some of the questions about the Korean Server and the new RMAH policy. He confirmed that you would be able to play on the Korean servers and that they use a different RMAH, one that only uses battle.net balance and real money. After some confusing back and forth rebuttals things seemed to get out of hand. People wanted to play on the Korean servers because of no RMAH it seems, and they were angry it turned out differently. The thread has been deleted since then.

One last conclusion that I want to make. Even if there is a RMAH free zone and you will be able to play in that zone, you will always use the RMAH of your region so you will never be able to opt-out. RMAH is here to stay, for better or for worse.
