The lesser evils were born alongside the Prime Evils with the destruction of Tathamet. Four of his heads gave birth to the lesser evils. Although their name suggests otherwise, they are very powerful demons. They even bested the prime evils themselves and banished them from the burning Hells.
Andariel, Maiden of Anguish
Originally thought to be the Daughter of Lilith but the findings of cain has unveiled that she was also born with the destruction of Tathamet. She gaurded the Monestary in the Tamoe Highlands to prevent anyone from crossing into Aranoch. After her arrival she started to corrupt the Sisterhood of the Sightless eye, to strengthen her hold over Khanduras. She was slain by the barbarian in his pursuit of the lord of terror many decades ago and is presumed to be destroyed.
Duriel, Lord of Pain
Duriel’s role in the events before the Dark Exile are largely unknown, speculations that he participated in the fall of the three brothers remains. Even though it’s contradictory to his role in the capture and enprisonment of Tyrael in Tal Rasha’s tomb. He was left there to guard Tyrael’s prison while Diablo and Baal moved onward. He was eventually destroyed by the barbarian that came to rescue Tyrael.
Belial, Lord of Lies
Of all things treacherous and vile, Belial played his role well in the events that led to the Dark Exile. His lies, deceit and treachery were essential for the start of the Civil War. In direct opposite to Azmodan, who destroy’s everything in his path, Belial’s ways corrupts from within, the lies and whispers that fuel hatred and despair, breaking the ties that bind those poor souls to the world and leads them straight into Hell. After the Dark Exile, Belial and Azmodan fought each other for control of the Burning Hells. This battle rages on to this very day.
Azmodan, Lord of Sin
Azmodan is the personification of the seven deadly sins. His greed, lust and hunger for power are unmatched and unquenched as the war with Belial for control of the Burning Hells endures. Considering himself as the true heir of the burning Hells, he decorates his body with gold. Exerting devastating power, crushing everything and everyone that stands between him and his eternal right to rule. His armies are led by seven lieutenants each one a personification of the seven deadly sins.
