I bought a new Personal Computer a little while ago, with that I purchased Vista Home Premium. Been running Xp professional for a while and figured home premium would be the equivalent to professional. Mostly it is but the one thing I used a lot was RDP and that was a no show. But with all things digital, problems are solved faster than they are created.
I found a blog post on techsoar.com detailing how you could ‘enable’ remote desktop for Vista 64 Bit Home Premium. Ofcourse the instructions on their site didnt work for me, so i have the fiddle with it a little. Basically it comes down to:
- NET stop “Terminal Services”
- Rename the original file and copy the modified version into the System 32 Directory.
- NET start “Terminal Services”
And that’s it, you should be able to connect to your Desktop. I really can’t believe they took out Remote Desktop.
